This course teaches the fundamentals of each band instrument (e.g. guitar, bass, drums, piano). The focus lies in the practice of popular music. In keeping with the idea of community music, musicians who are not studying music education at LMU, without any band experience, who come from classical music or other music cultures, or who are self-taught musicians are welcome. Each semester, a completely new band line-up is formed according to this principle. Songs are worked on across the literature of popular music, from Heavy Metal to Rock, Pop, Funk, R&B and Blues. The goal of the seminar is to make music together, to learn from each other, and to have fun with music.
