Biography

Sibylle Köllinger was born in Munich in 1984. After graduating from high school, she began her master's studies in music education, musicology and philosophy at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, which she successfully completed in 2009. At the same time, she studied music for the teaching profession at grammar schools and passed her First State Examination in 2011. In 2010 she was an Erasmus scholarship holder at the Conservatorio Guiseppe Verdi in Milan and devoted herself intensively to her main instrument, the flute. During her doctoral studies she received funding from the Carl Orff Foundation and was able to conduct her research in Germany and in the USA (Los Angeles). Her dissertation on Gertrud Orff-Willert was published by Schott (Mainz) in 2018.

Following the Second State Examination in spring 2019, she worked as a high school teacher at a Munich school and held a teaching position at the LMU. In addition to her work as a music educator, she also regularly performs as a musician. Since October 2019, she has been working as a research assistant in music education at LMU Munich.

Her research interests include historical music education, music didactics, inclusion, music therapy, and digitalization.
